1. Crochet Needles
Most of the pattern will tell you what size of crochet hook you need. I start with size G/6 (4.25 mm) that is made of aluminum. Now I have different kind and sizes.
2. Yarn
I start with a few different colored yarns. Doesn't matter what kind of yarn because it won't made to fit. Most pattern usually called for a medium size 4 yarn.
3. Polyester Fiberfill
I use this for the stuffing my amigurumi. There are also different kind of materials out there, but I like using this one.
4. Safety Eyes/Beads
Since Michaels didn't carry safety eyes, I have to order them through the internet. In the meanwhile, I use beads for my amigurumi. I also use felt for eyes and regular googly eyes, because I have no small children in my house. I also use felt for noses or mouth for my amigurumi.
5. Buttons, Brads, Ribbons, Sequins, Embroidery Threads, Felts, etc.
These are to decorate my amigurumi. Sometimes you can also find already made tiny bows and flowers that can be found at any dollar stores or craft stores. I don't recommend these for amigurumi made for baby or small children. But these decorations are really added a lot to the amigurumi cuteness!
6. Basic Crochet Kit
The rest of my tools are pretty basic, like yarn needle, yarn threader, scissor, stitch markers and row counter is very handy for me, because I always have to do errand in between project.
